It was a huge honour to be asked to be featured and interviewed in the pages of Gnarly Magazine. I have been following this mag for awhile now and the artists that they feature are some of my favourite. So to be asked to be in the same pages means a hell of a lot. Not sure I am worthy, but I’ll take it.

It’s hard to believe that I used to do most of my design and illustration by hand with pens, pencils and paper. It was such a tedious job, but until the old Adobe packages came rushing in I wouldn’t have known any better. I’m glad that I can do most of my illustrations digitally and straight on to the computer. But one forgets how long you’ve been doing this for and sometimes it’s good to go back to basics. I’m doing my best to step away from the computer, put pencil down to paper, retrace with pen and get the watercolors out. It’s by no means top-quality work but there’s something about having that physical final artwork in your hands that’s very gratifying.
